Hurting Hearts Must Continue to Stand for Human Rights

The news over the past few weeks has devastated our team. Watching the execution of a US citizen standing up for the rights of others is not something we ever expected to see here. Our hearts our hurting, our breaths are deep, and our desire for justice and human dignity is a beating drum.

Alex Pretti and Renee Good saw what was happening to marginalized people in their community, they stood against tyranny and paid the ultimate price.

To everyone who believes in equality, diversity, due process, and constitutional rights- now is the time to rage against the dying of the light.

In solidarity with Minnesota and those impacted by ICE across the country, 15% of All Proceeds This Weekend Will Be Donated to The National Immigration Project

Since its founding in 1971, the National Immigration Project has worked to defend and extend the rights of all noncitizens in the United States, regardless of immigration status. For more than 50 years, the Project has developed cutting edge strategies including advocacy and litigation to respond to unlawful immigration enforcement, government overreach, and efforts to erode immigrant rights.

This weekend and every day, we must advocate against the dehumanization of immigrants and defend the rights our country was founded on.

We recognize and support the shut down across the country today. We have chosen to remain open to be a safe space for community to gather and find comfort during this overwhelming moment.

And a little selfishly, we are staying open for ourselves- the compassion and conscience of our amazing customers has helped us through many days this year.

Thank you for your heart and solidarity <3

The days are dark, but resistance is bringing change.

In the past few days

-Boarder Patrol Leadership in Minnesota was removed with new leadership claiming they will "draw down operations"

- The agents who shot Alex Pretti have been placed on leave

- Senator Collins announced ICE has ceased their "enhanced operations" in the state of Maine

- The Senate voted 55-45 against moving forward the DHS funding bill

It is not enough. It is not nearly enough. But without our voices, videos, and commitment, the government would have continued without change- lying about what we could see with our own eyes. We are being seen. We are being heard.

Together we will overcome.
