This little bunting, called the Cardinal, has quite an extended family and is common all throughout North and South America. These little guys are a crowd favorite! Along with being the state bird of Kentuky, Indiana, Noth Carolina and Ohio, the Cardinal is also the mascot of both St. Louis's Baseball team and Arizona's football team. These vibrantly colored songbirds were once prized as pets and through the practice of caging these lovely birds is discontinued, their song continues to attract nature lovers.
